Taking Notes

As I learned about a topic (from a lecture or a blog or a video), I found I needed two additional skills:

Taking notes systematically

I adopted the Cornell Note Taking System. I use Microsoft OneNote with this system’s template to capture notes. One Note allows inserting images, files, and other media.

Remembering & using what I had learned

The basic method for effectively remembering is called spaced repetition and a version of this is well-described at the University of Waterloo’s site.
